As Coca-Cola celebrates the 140th anniversary of its first serving in 1886, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling (RCCB) continues building on its long-term commitment to California. Through a series of strategic investments totaling more than $700 million, RCCB is building modern, resilient infrastructure designed to support long-term, sustainable growth, strengthen local economies and create lasting opportunities for California communities. These investments underscore RCCB’s deep roots in the state and its ongoing dedication to its employees, customers and communities across California.

Rancho Cucamonga: A Next-Generation Flagship Facility

In Rancho Cucamonga, RCCB completed the final foundation pour on a new manufacturing and distribution campus that will serve as a flagship facility within the Coca-Cola System.

“We’ve laid the foundation for a generational investment in California,” said Tim Heinen, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling. “This facility will offer a best-in-class experience for our employees while supporting the growth and success of our communities for decades to come.”

In February 2026, the company broke ground on the new, 620,000-square-foot facility—the first step in transforming a legacy distribution center into a fully integrated and reimagined production hub. This project is part of a $650 million investment that will include new manufacturing lines, warehouse and distribution capabilities, customer service operations and an on-site recycling center.

Once complete, the campus will feature advanced production capabilities, enhanced logistics infrastructure, and modern employee amenities—all designed with safety, efficiency and sustainability in mind.

Downtown Los Angeles: Modernizing a Historic Landmark

Revitalization efforts remain on track at RCCB’s Downtown Los Angeles facility, known as “The Ship,” a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument that is central to the company’s presence in the city.

In late 2025, the company launched a $47.5 million revitalization project to upgrade and modernize the facility. Improvements include a new training and development space, upgraded office capabilities and a rooftop patio for hosting employee events and customer visits.

“As a long-standing beverage manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, we are proud of this great city,” said David Carey, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling Market Unit President – Los Angeles & Nevada. “This investment demonstrates our commitment to Downtown Los Angeles and our confidence in our continued mutual success.”

The renovated facility will support upcoming major global events, including the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and underscores the company’s long-standing commitment to Downtown Los Angeles.

Downey: Strengthening Core Production Capabilities

RCCB continues to invest in its Downey facility, a major manufacturing site within its Southern California network. Last year, the company transformed its primary production line with a full-scale equipment replacement. The line is now fully operational with improved efficiency and increased capacity, and other lines are now being upgraded.

In addition, RCCB recently announced a multi-faceted project that includes the development of a quad-generation system, a warehouse dock expansion, and updated facility enhancements and beautification. The quad-generation system will harness natural gas to produce electricity, heating, and cooling—all while recovering the purest beverage-grade CO2 for bottling. The dock expansion will replace an older facility with a modern office and improved warehouse façade. These additional upgrades will help RCCB support long-term growth throughout Southern California.

Fresno & Sacramento: Modernizing RCCB’s Distribution and Support Network across the Central Valley

In 2025, RCCB opened a new, 205,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Fresno. This state-of-the-art greenfield development builds on Coca-Cola’s decades of operations in the Central Valley and reflects the company’s continued commitment to the region. Key features include 30,000 sq. ft. of rooftop solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, indoor and outdoor water-reduction systems and drought-resistant landscaping. With nearly half of the building’s energy consumption now powered by on-site solar, the Fresno facility brings RCCB closer to its 2030 goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The company’s Sacramento Distribution Center has also received substantial upgrades totaling nearly $3 million. Improvements include a new rooftop solar array, office and amenity upgrades and enhancements to its customer service center.

A Lasting Commitment to the Future in California

What began as a simple beverage in 1886 has been transformed into a global system powered by local bottlers like Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling. And, while no one knows what the next 140 years may hold, one thing is certain: Coca-Cola beverages will continue to be manufactured and distributed in California, as they have been for more than a century.
